Villa La Matra is inserted in a harmonious context, made up of history and nature. The harmonious coexistence of the green hills, typical of our countryside, of the small historical centers rich in tradition and culture, fill this area with considerable charm. But also the cities of art, cornerstones of modern culture and civilization.

Città Di Castello
Following the Tiber Valley from the point where Tuscany and Umbria meet, you will happen upon Città di Castello. Its historical centre is enclosed by 16th century double walls, while surrounded by hills, perfect for hiking and sniffing out the elusive truffle which is a local ingredient.

Montone
The history of Montone, which begins in the 9th century, is intimately connected with the vicissitudes of the Fortebraccio family, which ruled the area…

Sansepolcro
Enclosed by city walls defined by the gunboats of Bernardo Buontalenti and by the valuable Giuliano da Sangallo Fortress, the historic center is a real jewel that has preserved its traditional features up to the present day. It's inextricably linked to the great Piero della Francesca. The artist, who used the name Pietro dal Borgo, immortalized Sansepolcro in many of his works, enhancing its typical features.

Anghiari
It was the Battle of Anghiari on 29 June 1440 that cemented Tuscany's borders, with the Florentines triumphing over the Milanese, allowing Florence to assume governance over the city. A painting of this battle, now sadly lost somewhere behind the walls of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, allowed Leonardo da Vinci to cement his fame. Anghiari is one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Italy, and was deservedly awarded the Italian Touring Club's prestigious Orange Flag.

Firenze
Florence is one of those Italian cities that has it all, and it’s pretty big too, so you’re going to need a plan in place to get it all in.

Perugia
The capital of the Umbria region may not be as well-known as nearby heavyweights like Florence, but that’s part of what makes it so appealing. Perugia holds its own when it comes to Italian cultural riches, with gothic architecture, Renaissance frescoes, ornate former palaces and cobbled squares populating the beautifully preserved historic centre.
